The goal of our project is of course not only to learn from it ourselves, but to spread the craft. In that context, Pieterjan will also teach workshops. In preparation for that, he spent a day with Martijn while he gave a bowl-turning workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the workshop, it was explained how a bowl is made on the pole lathe. And of course, it did not stop at an explanation. No, the most important thing is to make one yourself. It all starts with drawing the bowl on a block of wood and then axe work, where we focus on working safely and efficiently. Then the turning starts. First the outside of the bowl and then it still has to be hollowed out. All on the pole lathe. And don’t forget a cup of hot soup from a wooden bowl in between!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
